Level 1 Award in Occupational Studies for the Workplace

The primary purpose of this qualification is to provide you with an introduction to the skills, knowledge and understanding required in a range of vocational areas. This qualification provides 10 occupational clusters, enabling you to develop an understanding of the core knowledge and skills for a specific industry.

It supports this by helping to give you a solid introduction to the occupational area of your choice.

This qualification is for you if you’re looking to develop new skills and enter a new industry and would like to get a taste of the skills and knowledge required. The range of units available allows learners to focus in on one area or experience a vast variety of disciplines.

Level 2 Certificate in Lean Organisation Management Techniques & Working in Business Teams

This qualification aims to improve business performance through continuous professional development of employees and their skills set. Ideal for learners working in areas where improvements to quality, processes and costs have been identified. The qualification may also be suitable to provide knowledge and a new skill set that will be attractive to employers. This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and above.

Level 1 Award in Occupational Studies for the Workplace

This is a non-vocational qualification which sits within Foundation learning. The course aims to identify the learners’ own strengths and areas for improvement, planning and organising and how to implement these into the workplace:

  • Looking at time management, problem skills and how to improve own learning and performance.
  • Interview skills and techniques in preparation for the learners guaranteed interviews.

Level 2 Certificate in Lean Organisation Management Techniques & Working in Business Teams

The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to:

  • Understand lean organisation techniques in business.
  • Know and understand business improvement tools and techniques.
  • Know and understand how to work effectively in a business team.
  • Identify areas for improving productivity at work.
  • Understand the financial impact of lean working on the employer.
  • Access the business sector or progress to further qualifications and learning.

Progression Route

Level 1 Award in Occupational Studies for the Workplace

This qualification will provide you with the foundation knowledge that can be applied to a variety of job roles.

Level 2 Certificate in Lean Organisation Management Techniques & Working in Business Teams

This qualification can be adapted to any working environment. However, it is particularly popular in Manufacturing (specifically Automotive) and Warehousing (picking packing type roles).
