We have been supporting Changing Lives with the development of their Newcastle Upon Tyne ‘Zen Garden’. Over the last 10 months, we have been delivering training to the residents at Changing Lives, Newcastle to support them develop their skills; making donations to the organisation in return for the use of their onsite training room. With the help of our contributions, the ‘Zen Garden’ has been brought to life.
The Changing Lives homeless hostel in Newcastle is the first in the UK to be transformed into self-contained flats. To celebrate a year of their opening, they have opened a Zen Garden on site which aims to provide a relaxing outdoor area for the residents; improving their mental health and wellbeing and give their own space.
The garden was officially opened on Wednesday 27th July 2022 with guests including the lord mayor of Newcastle, Councellor Karen Robinson.
