The primary purpose of this qualification is to provide you with an introduction to the skills, knowledge and understanding required in a range of vocational areas. This qualification provides 10 occupational clusters, enabling you to develop an understanding of the core knowledge and skills for a specific industry.
It supports this by helping to give you a solid introduction to the occupational area of your choice.
This qualification is for you if you’re looking to develop new skills and enter a new industry and would like to get a taste of the skills and knowledge required. The range of units available allows learners to focus in on one area or experience a vast variety of disciplines.
Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to the Facilities Industry
The Level 1 introduction to the Facilities Industry is a qualification available to all that work or wish to work in the facilities industry. Individuals can choose the skills they want to focus on and get a greater undertaking for topics ranging from managing waste, infection control, sustainable use of resources and cleaning in specialised areas, such as servicing of rooms and removing graffiti.

Level 1 Award in Occupational Studies for the Workplace
This is a non-vocational qualification which sits within Foundation learning. The course aims to identify the learners’ own strengths and areas for improvement, planning and organising and how to implement these into the workplace:
- Looking at time management, problem skills and how to improve own learning and performance.
- Interview skills and techniques in preparation for the learners guaranteed interviews.
Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to the Facilities Industry
- Introducing the learner to the importance of personal and workplace hygiene and industrial cleaning practices.
- Covering health and safety legislation and be able to follow safe working practices within an industrial environment.
- To give the learner a basic understanding of the importance of customer service.
